Reforestation

About the Theme

Deforestation occurs when humans cut down forests around the world, usually faster than the trees can be replenished. This is a massive problem as trees are imperative to life on earth. Trees help regulate the carbon dioxide levels as they take in carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and release oxygen, helping humans. Forests also have great biodiversity, and cutting them down leaves numerous species without habitats. Reforestation is a movement meant to combat deforestation by simply planting more trees. Join us on our first day of this conference to embark on a path to save our planet!

Meet Our Speakers

Eevi Celina (Morning)

Originally from Finland, Celina got her degree in environmental studies at UC Berkeley. Cultivating her passion for helping the world from a young age, she set her sights on making a real change in the world. She founded One Tree One Life, a well-known non-profit organization that is actively fighting against climate change through reforestation. Gathering around 300,000 plus activists over the past few years, the organization has had a big part in funding and helping major reforestation projects in places from the Amazon to local communities.

Iman Wil (Evening)

Growing up in Nigeria, Iman started experiencing the effects of deforestation all around her at an early age. Losing approximately 55% of its primary forests from 2000 to 2005, things in Nigeria didn’t seem to be getting any better. With local support and a set goal, she set out to increase awareness about deforestation. Since starting her non-profit organization and campaign, One With Nature, in her 20’s, Iman has been steadily increasing the reach of this organization. From setting up small-scale to big-scale projects on re-planting trees to holding educational classes about the dangers of deforestation, Iman is healing the nature around her.

Feeding the World

Giving back to the world we live in is so important because it has given so much to us. So, we partnered up with one of your favorite restaurants, Garden Dome, to raise money for charities that give back to nature.

One way to support the fight against deforestation and all the negative consequences that come from it is to fund the organizations actively fighting against it. What better way to do this than by partnering with an environmentally-friendly organization?

So go to your nearby Garden Dome and mention our event and all your expenses will be donated to the charity of your choice! And as a bonus, If you spend over $50, you win a free handmade bracelet!

This is only active during this 4-day event, so don't miss the opportunity to help us reach our overall goal of $500,000 in donations!
